Juice Fasting Day 1 Does A Lot
I started my morning by weighing myself and discovering that I actually am 231.2 lbs, not 234 as I thought I was. Apparently, the partial juicing that I introduced over the past few days replaced an average of 1 meal a day, and that alone helped me shed 3 lbs without much effort. Not a bad start before the real Juice Fast Day 1 dieting!
Being thrilled by the news, I went straight to the fridge and gulped 2 glasses of super-fuel that I juiced the night before: Chard, parsley, celery, spinach, cucumbers, lemons, lime, carrots and grapes. And I call this super-food because it gives me a nice smooth energy boost and mental awareness, and it just feels “clean” inside. Each glass of fresh juice feels to me the equivalent of 2 or 3 espressos, but without the jitter of coffee. Talking about espresso, I couldn’t help but extracting one while I was there!
Overall I consumed about 4-5 cups of juices, 1 salad with an olive oil dressing, 1 tea (no sugar), 2 espressos and water. The 15-day fasting I’m following includes some salads and fruits in the first 5 days along with juicing, then pure juicing the following 5 days, and finally easing out the last 5 days by having fruits and salads along too.
New York City Ain’t Juice Fasting-Friendly!
We spent a good deal of day 1 in NYC visiting a cousin. It was a good time well spent, but my food instincts didn’t felt that teased for a while!
Barbq smoke from NY street food carts never smelled so good, just because I couldn’t have it.
And as we walked the streets of the city, wild aromas from the rainbow of restaurants intercepted me and followed me wherever I went. It felt a bit like a curse, and I couldn’t help but questioning myself again about why I am doing this to myself! But too late buddy – the ship has already sailed and there is no turning back!

Lino’s Day 1 Summary
Starting the fast at 235lbs. I had a nice juice I got a few bunches of green & red grapes/chard/kale/apples/carrots/celery & one peach I had around the kitchen. It was good, a bit on the sweet side but for just starting juicing it was good. I normally like the (Mean Green) mixture, I add beets as I really like beets.” I am going to start walking today with the idea after 1-week start running, I feel really good when I run. At 235Lbs, it kills my knees. Stay strong and stay hydrated, normally we should drink 2L per day juicing try to drink 3L if possible.
